Full Circle: From Food Bank Client to Compassionate Employee
The COVID-19 pandemic was tough on Caroline Mitchell. Like many across the country, she lost her job during this time, making it difficult to make ends meet. She turned to The Salvation Army’s food bank in Fort St. John, B.C., for assistance. Little did she know that when she first walked through the doors, this place would one day bring her an amazing opportunity. “I had been out of work for two years. I came from a family of proud people, so I always tried to be independent. However, I was hungry. So, I decided it was best to come to the food bank,” Caroline shares.
