COMMUNITY COUNCIL
1. The Community Council Purpose
• The Community Council is a group of volunteers who ensure that the designated service is efficiently and effectively administered.
• The Community Council functions by giving advice in program and policy matters in order to enhance the excellence of service.
• The name of this group shall be “COMMUNITY COUNCIL FOR THE SALVATION ARMY COMMUNITY VENTURE ”
2. The Responsibilities
To ensure that the Army is efficiently and effectively carrying out its programs in the Community, the responsibilities of the Council shall be as follows:
i. To review on a regular basis the mission, goals, objectives, and strategic plan of the program in relation to the provision, within available resources of appropriate programs and services in order to meet the needs of the community.
ii. To ensure established policies and procedures provide the framework for the management and operation of the programs.
iii. To ensure that staff and facilities are appropriate for the service provided.
iv. To ensure that quality assurance and risk management programs are established for the regular evaluation of quality of service and care, and that all service are regularly evaluated in relation to generally accepted standards, and require accountability on a regular basis.
v. The Council may expect the full co-operation of the Executive Director of the program in fulfilling its duties. It is expected that the Council will co—operate with the Executive Director in the discharge of appropriate responsibilities.
